About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a 13-week contract position in Nashua, New Hampshire. The PACU RN will provide professional nursing care to patients requiring post-procedure and critical-care monitoring while maintaining patient safety, clinical quality, and continuity of care.
Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and provide comprehensive nursing care to PACU patients while recognizing and responding promptly to changes in clinical condition.
Safely administer medications and procedural sedation while monitoring patient response and documenting care according to established policies.
Perform comprehensive clinical documentation, nursing care plans, patient handoffs, and interdisciplinary communication to support continuity of care.
Assist with specialized cardiovascular procedures as assigned, including FlowWire, Opsens, and IVUS, while demonstrating knowledge of IV adenosine administration, contraindications, and reversal.
Follow patient-safety, infection-control, quality-improvement, regulatory, and professional nursing standards while collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team.
Requirements
Active New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) License Required.
Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS Certifications Required.
Critical Care Nursing Experience Preferred; 3 Years of Critical Care Experience Strongly Preferred.
Basic Dysrhythmia and NIHSS Certification Preferred or Must Be Completed Prior to the End of Orientation.
CPI Training Preferred or Must Be Completed During Orientation; Procedural Sedation Competency and Annual Sedation Examination Required.
The PACU Registered Nurse will provide skilled post-anesthesia and critical-care nursing while supporting safe recovery and positive patient outcomes.
