Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze customer requirements, job tasks, and performance data to identify instructional needsDesign, develop, implement, and maintain instructional content following the ADDIE processApply instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and performance-based methodologiesReview technical manuals, engineering documents, and reference materials for content developmentDevelop learning objectives, assessments, lesson plans, storyboards, and supporting artifactsCreate scenario-based activities, exercises, and performance support materialsCoordinate with SMEs and technical personnel to ensure accuracy and instructional effectivenessProduce and maintain Instructor Led Training (ILT) materials, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) courseware, trainee guides, tests, and documentationSupport development of simulation-based or technology-enabled training solutionsParticipate in internal and customer reviews; incorporate required changesEnsure all training products meet Navy standards, NAVEDTRA guidance, contract requirements, and customer expectationsManage assigned tasks and deliverables to meet project schedules and milestonesRequired Experience/QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related fieldMinimum two years of experience designing, developing, or delivering instructional productsExperience applying a systematic instructional design processInstructional systems designTask, job, and needs analysisCurriculum developmentLearning objective developmentInstructional strategy selectionScenario-based learning designAssessment and evaluation developmentTechnical writing and editingCritical thinking and problem-solvingOrganization and time managementWritten and verbal communicationCollaboration with stakeholdersAdaptability and continuous learningSpecial Requirements/Security ClearanceAbility to obtain a Security ClearanceTravel may be required, typically one to two trips annually, with each trip lasting approximately one to two weeks.Job SummaryID: 2026-11246# of Openings: 1Category: Systems SupportClearance: Tier 3 - Secret/ADP II
